ALAMEDA, Calif. Cheap NFL Jerseys Free Shipping . - Rookie Derek Carrs first NFL start as Oakland Raiders quarterback was a learning experience. He saw new defences, exotic blitzes and got to see firsthand what playing in the NFL is like after years of watching big brother David do it. Perhaps the most important thing Carr learned was that he belonged on that big stage already at the start of his rookie season even if the end result against the New York Jets wasnt quite what he hoped with a 19-14 loss last Sunday. "I can do this," Carr said Wednesday. "I was able to go out there and play against a great defence. ... To play against them for your first game, I was fired up because you want to see as much as you can, as early as you can in your career." Carr had an up-and-down performance that would be expected from a rookie making his first career start going up against a Rex Ryan defence. He threw an early touchdown pass to Rod Streater and avoided any turnovers or egregious mistakes. But he also struggled to get the ball downfield, relying mostly on screens and quick passes. Carr completed 20 of 32 passes for 151 yards. Only three of those completions travelled at least 10 yards downfield, including a 30-yard touchdown pass to James Jones in the closing minutes. Carr said the lack of downfield throws was more about situations and the defence than a cautious game plan looking to protect a rookie. "They were called, theres no doubt they were called," Carr said of the deep passes. "It we went down there and out of the 30-something throws, we threw it down the field 28 times, it would probably have been even worse than it looked. It doesnt always work out the way you want to. But they were called and theyll continue to be called." Carrs first start at MetLife Stadium came in the same building that his brother threw his final NFL pass as a backup for the New York Giants in 2012. Derek Carrs first home start with the Raiders comes against the Houston Texans, the team that drafted David first overall in 2002 to be the face of the expansion franchise. That did not work out as planned as David Carr struggled at the start on an overmatched team, getting sacked an NFL-record 76 times as a rookie. Those beatings took a toll on David Carr that he was never able to overcome and left an impression on young Derek. "All I knew is I grew up a Cowboys and Raiders fan and I never saw those quarterbacks get hit that much," he said. "Just being honest. Thats what my thought was as a kid. Being older and going back and watching those games, I understand what was going on." While Derek Carr joined a team that hadnt posted a winning record for 11 straight seasons, it is not anything like an expansion team. But even with a veteran offensive line, Carr was pressured on 47.1 per cent of his drop backs, according to Pro Football Focus, third most in the league last week. Making matters worse is the team that generated the most pressure is the Texans with star end J.J. Watt leading the charge. But coach Dennis Allen said he expects to see a step forward this week from Carr and the line. "I thought he handled himself well in the game last week," Allen said. "I think well see improvement. Just like you see from season one to season two, you always see improvement, the most improvement you see during the season is from Week 1 to Week 2. Im excited about watching him play." The Jets have now won nine of their last 11, and five of their last six road games. With the win they moved to within two points of Vancouver in the west, the Canucks holding down the eighth spot. Vancouver lost in Boston, while the other big game saw Dallas win in Phoenix. Cheap Jerseys Store . The same cant be said of last Saturdays 2-2 draw at Olympic Stadium against a very weakened New York Red Bulls side and one which had three stalwarts in Henry, Cahill and Olave back home in Harrison, NJ. http://www.authenticcheapjerseys.net/ . -- The Atlanta Braves are facing the possibility of losing another pitcher for the season after general manager Frank Wren said Saturday that Cory Gearrin has a serious injury to his right elbow.DENVER -- Jhoulys Chacin went from his sick bed to a run at Coors Field history in a span of 24 hours. When he was finally done for the night, he left the San Francisco Giants feeling ill. Chacin shook off a high fever to put in a masterful outing Wednesday night. The righty did not allow a hit until there were two outs in the seventh inning and hustled for a crucial RBI to help the Colorado Rockies beat the Giants 5-4. Vying for the second no-hitter in franchise history and second ever at Coors Field, Chacin (13-7) tied a season high with nine strikeouts. Brandon Crawfords single to centre field was the only hit Chacin allowed in seven innings. He also yielded an unearned run. "Man, he was good tonight," manager Walt Weiss said. "His breaking ball had some depth to it. He got a lot of swings and missed with his breaking ball." It was a big change from Tuesday, when Chacin left Coors Field wondering if he would make his scheduled start. He said his fever reached 100.6 and he wasnt able to stay in the dugout during the game, so he retired to the clubhouse and slept on a couch. "I was really bad. I told (the trainers) if I felt the same today I couldnt pitch," Chacin said. "I couldnt even do the chart yesterday. They gave me pills to make feel better. This morning I woke up, I called them to say I feel better. "I always want to pitch so it would have to be really bad for me not to pitch," Chacin added. He worked around three errors and threw 92 pitches through six innings, but Weiss said he was going to let Chacin stay in until he gave up a hit. "We were going to let him chase a no-hitter as long as it took," he said. "After he gave up the hit I didnt want to let him go after that." Crawford made it a moot point with a sharp single on an inside fastball. The crowd of 27,268 gave Chacin a standing ovation after Crawfords hit. "We couldnt figure him out," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "He mixed it up, we chased some pitches and just couldnt get anything going against him." Troy Tulowitzki and Wilin Rosario had two hits each for Colorado, which built a 5-1 lead through six innings. Giants starter Madison Bumgarner (11-9) was effective until the sixth. He allowed just three hits -- including Nolan Arenados RBI double in the second before Colorado tagged him in the sixth. DJ LeMahieu led off the inning with a single, Tulowitzki walked and Rosario hit a bloop single to centre to make it 2-1. Jean Machi entered and got Arenado to hit a comebacker, but Crawford dropped the throw to secondd to load the bases. Stitched Jerseys From China. Yorvit Torrealbas ground-rule double made it 4-1, and after an intentional walk Chacin beat out a potential double-play ball at first for another run. "I felt good and felt I made some pitches," Bumgarner said. "They just happened to find holes when they hit it." The Giants nearly left Chacin with a no-decision when they rallied for three runs in the eighth. Brandon Belt hit an RBI double, Buster Posey drove in another run with a groundout and Pence singled to make it 5-4. Rex Brothers worked the ninth for his 14th save. While Chacin was baffling the Giants, the defence behind him was suspect. Rosario, starting at first base for the third time this season, mishandled two straight grounders to start the third. Chacin got Bumgarner to pop up a bunt attempt, struck out Gregor Blanco and got Marco Scutaro to ground out to end the inning. "It was tough, but theyve picked me up with good plays all year and today was a day I had to pick them up," Chacin said. The Giants capitalized in the fourth. Belt walked and went to third when Tulowitzki fumbled Poseys potential double-play grounder. Pence hit into a double play to score Belt and make it 1-all. That was all the damage the Giants could do against Chacin. He mixed in his breaking ball and worked both sides of the plate to keep the hitters off-balance. "Everything was working for me today," he said. "My ball was sinking, my curveball was good and I got ground balls with my sinker." NOTES: Its the deepest a Colorado pitcher has taken a no-hitter at Coors Field. John Thomson didnt allow a hit for 6 1-3 innings against Pittsburgh on May 2, 2002. ...
